Description:

• Data Scientists at Rocket Money build data products that deepen customer relationships with financial products, focusing on machine learning-driven product experiences.
• The role involves building new user-facing features in collaboration with engineering, product, and design teams, utilizing expertise in machine learning system and model design.
• Responsibilities include optimizing continuous product feedback loops, developing the next version of Autopilot and Budgets, and uncovering relationships between customer data to create personalized experiences.
• The position requires designing and conducting experiments to estimate the impact of new products and customer messaging, as well as building anomaly detection systems for transaction categorization.
• The role emphasizes collaboration within cross-functional teams, leading ML and data science product development, and becoming a subject matter expert in the area of specialty.
• The candidate will be responsible for mentoring junior team members and maintaining a high technical bar through code reviews and quality assurance.

Requirements:

• The candidate must be a team player with strong collaboration and communication skills, seeking feedback and over-communicating when necessary.
• A focus on solving user problems rather than academic publications is essential.
• The ability to work strategically with stakeholders to define new projects and initiatives is required.
• Experience in delivering products incrementally and excellent writing, presentation, and communication skills are necessary.
• Strong software engineering skills and experience working with engineering teams to build software are mandatory.
• The candidate should have 6+ years of professional experience in data science, with knowledge of databases, data warehouses, and machine learning systems.
• A player/coach mindset is important, with a commitment to mentoring junior data scientists.
• Deep experience in customer segmentation, time series modeling, natural language processing, and other data science methodologies is required.
• Experience in fintech, banking, or finance is a plus.
