Wealthsimple is seeking a Senior Data Scientist for their Investing Data Science team, which is part of the Risk & Decision Science group.

The Data Science & Engineering (DSE) team is responsible for enabling data-driven decision making and building data products.
The role involves analyzing user behavior, developing experiments, applying causal inference methods, and using machine learning algorithms to enhance product experiences.
The successful candidate will partner with Product, Product Marketing, and Engineering teams to support high-priority initiatives.
Responsibilities include building data models, applying statistical techniques, and ensuring data quality and accessibility.
The position is remote-first, allowing candidates to work from anywhere in Canada.

Requirements:

Candidates must possess strong business acumen and product sense.
Proficiency in Python and SQL is required, along with experience using libraries such as Pandas, scikit-learn, numpy, and Jupyter.
A strong understanding of statistics, including both frequentist and Bayesian approaches, is necessary.
Familiarity with fundamental machine-learning algorithms, such as regression and decision trees, is essential.
The ideal candidate should be able to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical teams.
Candidates should be adaptable to changing priorities and capable of managing complexity.
