PENN Entertainment, Inc. is seeking a Senior Data Scientist to join their Data team in Toronto, ON.
The Data Science team is responsible for building models, forecasts, and simulations to enhance theScore Bet, ESPN Bet, and iCasino products.
The role involves machine learning and statistical modeling to predict outcomes of various sports events.
Responsibilities include conducting A/B testing to inform product development, performing predictive and prescriptive analytics, and developing data pipelines and models.
The candidate will design and build new predictive models with enterprise-level impact and collaborate with Data Science and Engineering teams.
The position requires clear communication with both technical and non-technical stakeholders and maintaining technical documentation.
Other duties may be assigned as required.

Requirements:

A minimum of 4 years of experience as a Data Scientist is required.
Experience in solving quantitative problems using MLB, NBA, or NFL data is essential.
Candidates must have a strong understanding of sport-specific problem-solving techniques and the ability to project player and team performance.
Proficiency in Python and SQL for generating insights is necessary.
Experience in creating algorithms and applying machine learning models to sports-related problems is required.
Candidates should be familiar with classification, regression, forecasting models, and A/B testing.
Experience with GitHub for provisioning services is needed.
The ability to take ownership of work and achieve high-level objectives is essential.
