Remote Senior Data Scientist - Product at Wealthsimple

Description:

Wealthsimple is seeking a Senior Data Scientist to join their Data Science team, which is responsible for enabling data-driven decision making and building data products.
The role involves partnering with product managers in the Investing and Banking domains to influence product direction and drive decision-making.
Responsibilities include building robust data models in the cloud data warehouse, applying statistical techniques and machine learning models to solve product problems, and translating business requirements into data models and analyses.
The candidate will apply software engineering best practices to ensure data models are well tested, documented, and maintained.
The ideal candidate will continuously seek the simplest and most effective solutions to challenges.

A minimum of 5 years of experience with Python and SQL, including proficiency in libraries such as Pandas, scikit-learn, numpy, and Jupyter.
Proven ability to lead projects from ideation to production.
Experience working collaboratively with product managers, designers, and engineers.
Strong understanding of both frequentist and Bayesian statistics.
Knowledge of fundamental machine-learning algorithms, including regression and decision trees.
Exceptional communication skills to effectively convey ideas to both technical and non-technical teams.
Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities and manage complexity.
