Description:
Xometry is seeking a Senior Data Scientist to join their Data Science team on a 1-year contract.
The role involves using data analysis and visualizations to inform business strategy for cost predictions in a two-sided marketplace.
Responsibilities include querying and extracting data from databases such as Snowflake and MongoDB.
The candidate will develop hypotheses and conduct statistical analysis to answer business questions.
The position requires designing, implementing, and analyzing results from experiments, including A/B Tests.
The role also involves analyzing formulaic algorithms for accuracy, providing recommendations, and updating production code.
The candidate must be able to iterate solutions in a fast-paced environment where ambiguity is common.
The position requires solving challenging, uncharted problems and working in a collaborative environment that promotes teamwork and continuous learning.
Requirements:
A Bachelor’s degree is required, preferably in applied math, computer science, natural sciences, or engineering.
An M.S. or PhD in a related field is highly desired.
The candidate must have 5+ years of experience with pricing algorithms and product-led technology.
Proficiency in SQL and Python, including libraries such as numpy, scipy, pandas, and sklearn, is required.
Experience interacting with APIs using Python is necessary.
The candidate must be proficient in applied statistics, including concepts such as distribution of random variables, p-values, confidence intervals, standard error, power, and type I and II errors.
Proficiency in statistical tests, including t-test, ANOVA, and Chi-Square test, is required.
The candidate should be fluent with scientific software principles, including versioning systems, reproducibility, and code deployment.
The ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt quickly is essential.
The candidate must be able to work core aligned hours to US Eastern Time / GMT-5.
