The role involves collaboration with a high-performing team, including sales, marketers, and financial services experts, through Slack, video calls, and regular meetings.
The Senior Data Scientist will lead the development of scalable Generative AI pipelines that process raw data and generate context-aware results for Plum’s AI-driven products.
Responsibilities include designing and architecting end-to-end Generative AI pipelines, integrating LLMs via APIs, building workflows using frameworks like LangChain, and implementing RAG architecture.
The role requires developing methods to evaluate LLM outputs, building automated evaluation pipelines, and ensuring reliability in production through monitoring and observability.
Collaboration with cross-functional teams to integrate generative outputs into client-facing applications is also a key responsibility.

Requirements:

A Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, or a related technical field is required.
Candidates must have 5+ years of experience in developing and deploying machine learning pipelines in production.
A minimum of 2 years of experience in building Generative AI or LLM-based applications is necessary.
Strong programming skills in Python and hands-on experience with ML/AI frameworks such as LangChain and Transformers are required.
A deep understanding of LLM evaluation, prompt engineering, and text generation quality metrics is essential.
Experience in designing and implementing RAG architectures is required.
Hands-on experience with Databricks, MLflow, or similar platforms is necessary.
Familiarity with cloud infrastructure (preferably AWS) and MLOps practices for deploying models in production is required.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to lead through ambiguity are essential.
Excellent communication and documentation habits are required.
