The Detection team is responsible for developing, training, and deploying machine learning models to keep fraud rates low and ensure client satisfaction.

The Senior Data Scientist, Team Lead will manage a team of data scientists and ML engineers, driving innovation in fraud detection products.
Responsibilities include hiring, coaching, and developing the data science team, as well as collaborating with product, engineering, and operations teams.
The role involves both leadership and hands-on model development, focusing on incremental improvements to models for clients.
Requirements:
A minimum of 1 year of experience as a data science or engineering manager, overseeing at least 3 people is required.
Strong collaboration skills with colleagues from various teams, including client operations, product, engineering, and senior leadership, are essential.
Experience in managing and retaining talented engineers and data scientists from diverse backgrounds, with the ability to handle difficult situations with empathy and support, is necessary.
Significant experience in building and deploying machine learning models using the Python data stack is required.
A solid understanding of software engineering best practices, including version control, unit tests, code reviews, and CI/CD, as they relate to machine learning engineering, is essential.
