Remote Senior Data Solutions Architect (AWS)

Description:

• The Senior Data Solutions Architect will lead the design, architecture, and implementation of large-scale data solutions for clients using AWS.
• This role involves strategic technical leadership, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative cloud-based data platforms that drive business value.
• Responsibilities include leading high-impact customer engagements focused on AWS Data Platform solutions and defining technical strategies that align AWS capabilities with customer objectives.
• The architect will architect and design scalable data platforms using AWS, ensuring optimal performance, security, and cost-efficiency.
• Integration of AWS services with other solutions such as Databricks, Snowflake, GCP, or Azure is required, selecting the right technologies to meet customer needs.
• The role includes developing and maintaining comprehensive architectural documentation aligned with organizational technical standards.
• The architect will partner with the sales team to provide technical expertise, participate in customer meetings, create technical proposals, and assist in responding to RFPs/RFIs.
• Building and maintaining strong relationships with key customer stakeholders is essential, acting as a trusted advisor for data platform initiatives.
• The architect will oversee the end-to-end implementation of AWS-based data platforms, manage technical risks, and develop mitigation strategies.
• Staying up-to-date with the latest developments in AWS and cloud technologies is crucial, along with promoting best practices in data platform architecture and governance.
• Collaboration with AI/ML teams and DevOps teams is necessary to integrate advanced analytics and implement CI/CD pipelines.
• Mentorship of junior architects and engineers, along with contributing to knowledge-sharing initiatives, is expected.
• Ensuring compliance with security standards and implementing data governance frameworks is part of the role.

Requirements:

• A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is required.
• A minimum of 8 years of experience in data solution architecture is necessary, with at least 3 years focused on AWS.
• Proven experience in designing and implementing large-scale data engineering solutions on AWS is essential.
• Experience with Databricks, GCP, or Azure solutions is required.
• Deep expertise in AWS platform services, including S3, EC2, Lambda, EMR, Glue, Redshift, AWS MSK, and EKS is needed.
• Proficiency in programming languages like Python, SQL, and Scala is required.
• Experience with data warehousing, ETL processes, and real-time data streaming is necessary.
• Familiarity with open-source technologies and tools in data engineering is preferred.
• An AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional (or similar) certification is required.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills are essential, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong leadership and project management skills are necessary.
• The ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment is required.
