Description:
The Senior Database Administrator position is a remote role within Caret Legal's Cloud Engineering group.
This role involves supporting multiple RDBMS and NoSQL applications both in the cloud and on-premise.
The Sr. DBA will shape the direction of multiple products by collaborating closely with infrastructure, engineering, and product teams.
Responsibilities include ensuring data availability, integrity, and security.
The role requires performing and automating routine database administration functions such as capacity planning, performance monitoring and tuning, executing security procedures, and managing backup and recovery processes.
Requirements:
A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent knowledge and experience in database concepts is required.
Candidates must have 7+ years of SQL Server DBA experience.
Expert-level skills in SQL Development, including the ability to write and troubleshoot SQL Code and design stored procedures, functions, tables, views, and triggers are necessary.
Candidates should possess expert knowledge in creating complex SQL queries, performance tuning, and optimization using native monitoring and troubleshooting tools.
Proficiency in index management and statistics is required.
Familiarity with Query Store or equivalent tools is essential.
Knowledge of troubleshooting and resolving database integrity, blocking and deadlocking, performance, connectivity, and security issues is necessary.
Candidates must be able to detect and troubleshoot SQL Server related I/O, memory, disk space, CPU, and other resource issues.
Experience with Azure SQL/Azure Elastic Pools in a multi-tenancy environment is required.
Understanding of monitoring concepts and tooling is necessary.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities are essential.
Familiarity with DevOps concepts, including the Azure DevOps framework and tools, is required.
PowerShell scripting skills are necessary.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
The ability to excel in a fast-paced environment is essential.
