Remote Senior Database Developer

Description:

• Design and implement database solutions, including data models, schemas, and architecture, to meet business requirements and ensure efficient data storage and retrieval.
• Develop and maintain database objects such as tables, views, stored procedures, and functions, ensuring data integrity, consistency, and performance.
• Optimize database performance through indexing, query optimization, and performance tuning techniques, ensuring scalability and responsiveness for critical applications.
• Integrate data from various sources into the database, ensuring data consistency, quality, and completeness throughout the data lifecycle.
• Plan and execute database migrations and upgrades, ensuring minimal downtime and data loss while maintaining data integrity and security.
• Implement database security controls and data governance policies to ensure data security, privacy, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Implement monitoring and alerting systems to track database performance and health, proactively identifying and resolving issues to minimize downtime and data loss.
• Document database design, processes, and best practices, providing clear and comprehensive documentation to facilitate understanding and collaboration among team members.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and deliver database solutions that meet business needs.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in database development, with a focus on designing, building, and optimizing database solutions.
• Proficiency in SQL and experience with database management systems such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, SQL Server, or similar.
• Strong understanding of database design principles and techniques, with experience designing and implementing data models and schemas.
• Experience with performance optimization techniques such as indexing, query optimization, and performance tuning.
• Experience with database security, data governance, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Strong problem-solving skills and analytical thinking, with the ability to troubleshoot complex database issues and optimize system performance.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
