Remote Senior Database Engineer

Description:

• The position is for a Senior Database Engineer, which is a remote, full-time role requiring experienced professionals.
• The start date for this position is April 3, 2025.
• Candidates must have an unclassified clearance and be eligible for DoD SECRET.
• Work hours are from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday, excluding Government Holidays.
• The candidate will support Oracle data transformation and migration services to transfer historical order, customer, and reference data from a production clone of the environment.
• Responsibilities include exporting data from the cloned environment and importing it into the new environment.
• Specific duties involve performing data transformation to align with DMP requirements, including editing queries, creating Materialized Views (MVs), executing external scripts, developing and optimizing queries, and leveraging processes for data export and import.
• The candidate will validate import formats for various data types, including JSON and XML formats.
• Ensuring that data transformation and export meet required formats is also a key responsibility.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have at least 8 years of experience in a related field.
• A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Management Information Systems, or an equivalent field is required.
• The candidate should have experience with data transformation and migration services, particularly with Oracle databases.
• Proficiency in editing queries to meet size limits and specific formatting requirements is necessary.
• Experience in creating Materialized Views (MVs) to support migration efforts is required.
• Candidates must be skilled in editing and executing external scripts, such as PowerShell, for data processing and transformation.
• The ability to develop and optimize queries for efficient data retrieval and processing is essential.
• Familiarity with validating import formats for JSON and XML data types is required.
• Candidates should be capable of transforming columns into XML rows within SQL execution and using external scripts for data conversion.
