Remote Senior Database Engineer

Description:

• The Senior Database Engineer at ecoATM will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining complex database systems critical to business operations.
• Key responsibilities include database design and architecture, performance tuning, data integrity, security, collaboration with stakeholders, mentorship, innovation, and problem-solving.
• The role involves working closely with developers, data scientists, and other team members to deliver solutions aligned with project goals.
• The position requires staying current with emerging database technologies and proposing innovative solutions to improve performance and scalability.
• The Senior Database Engineer will diagnose and resolve complex database issues, develop disaster recovery plans, and ensure minimal downtime.

Requirements:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field. Advanced degrees or relevant certifications (e.g., DBA, AWS Certified Database – Specialty) are a plus.
• Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of experience as a Database Engineer or similar role, with a strong track record of designing, implementing, and managing large-scale databases.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in SQL and experience with relational database management systems (e.g., SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle). Knowledge of NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra) is highly desirable. Experience with cloud-based databases (e.g., AWS RDS, Azure SQL) and data warehousing solutions (e.g., Snowflake, Redshift) is a plus. Familiarity with database automation and DevOps practices.
