Description:

ClickUp is seeking a Senior Database Reliability Engineer to enhance the stability, availability, and reliability of its cloud-based infrastructure.
The role involves building a deep understanding of ClickUp's systems to identify risks and opportunities for remediation.
Responsibilities include owning and improving the incident management process, defining SLOs and SLIs, and introducing error budgeting.
The engineer will improve observability across services and build software solutions for reliability and operability of large-scale distributed systems.
The position requires creating tools and automation to reduce operational overhead and automate critical engineering processes.
The engineer will manage capacity and performance to scale infrastructure on public and private clouds globally.

Requirements:

Strong software engineering skills with an operational, infrastructural, or SRE mentality are essential for designing and building systems for platform and infrastructure layers.
Candidates must have production working experience in a major cloud environment, including CI/CD deployments and using managed services.
Experience managing production-grade infrastructure with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools or configuration management tools is required.
A strong knowledge of *nix based operating systems and advanced troubleshooting commands is necessary.
Experience with VMs, containers, and container orchestration systems is expected.
Candidates should have experience with RDBMS and NoSQL storage solutions, including running and inspecting queries, with knowledge of indexing, locking, replication, and sharding as a bonus.
Familiarity with logging, monitoring, and alerting tools, as well as setting up monitors and alerts for production services, is required.
Bonus points for experience with technologies such as CloudFormation/CDK, ECS, ElasticBeanstalk, PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, AuroraDB, and Typescript or JavaScript frameworks.

The position offers a salary range of $200,000 - $242,500 as base pay.
