Description:
Raintree is seeking a passionate and experienced Senior Design System Architect to establish and evolve their global design system.
This position is fully remote and can be performed from designated U.S. states including AL, AZ, FL, GA, IN, KS, MA, MI, MS, NC, NV, OR, PA, SC, TN, TX.
The role involves building a design foundation for rehabilitation and physical therapy software solutions, bridging the gap between UX design and front-end development.
Key responsibilities include defining the strategic vision and roadmap for the design system, architecting and maintaining visual style guides, UI component libraries, and UX best practices.
The architect will collaborate with UX designers and front-end developers to expand the component library and establish governance for its usage.
Responsibilities also include creating comprehensive documentation, working closely with cross-functional teams, advocating for the design system, and continuously improving its effectiveness.
Staying current with design trends and best practices in design systems, UI development, and accessibility is essential.
Requirements:
A minimum of 4 years of experience in a UX/UI or Product Design role, focusing on establishing design standards for complex B2B SaaS products.
A strong portfolio showcasing experience in building and maintaining design systems or significantly contributing to existing systems.
Advanced expertise in Figma and component-based design workflows, including Libraries and Variants.
Proficiency in design system management tools such as Zeroheight, Storybook, or similar platforms.
Excellent knowledge of UI component libraries, with experience in Radix or other open-source libraries being a significant plus.
A strong understanding of front-end development technologies like HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React, or similar frameworks.
Knowledge of human-centered design principles and accessibility standards is required.
Experience working in cross-functional teams and collaborating with product and engineering teams is essential.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to articulate design rationale and technical considerations to diverse audiences.
Preferred qualifications include experience in healthcare IT systems, front-end/UI development, familiarity with HIPAA regulations, and contributions to open-source design systems.
