Description:
Ramp is a financial operations platform designed to save businesses time and money, combining corporate cards with various financial management tools.
The company is seeking a Senior Designer-Engineer to empower design and engineering teams to deliver consistent experiences across all products and platforms.
This role involves evolving and maintaining the design system, front-end libraries, infrastructure, and documentation, as well as building internal tooling to enhance velocity.
The individual will help maintain and evolve Ramp’s cross-platform design system and contribute to the design and user experience of the core product.
Responsibilities include collaborating with product, engineering, and design teams, advocating for user experience and accessibility, and participating in team rituals.
The role also includes hiring new team members to bring diverse perspectives to the process.
Requirements:
A minimum of 5 years of experience in tech/startup or digital product agency environments is required.
Strong understanding of Product Design software, preferably Figma, is necessary.
Candidates must possess extraordinary visual design skills and a solid understanding of UX and UI principles, along with a background in visual/interaction design.
Excellent front-end development skills in semantic HTML, CSS, and JavaScript (with frameworks, preferably React) are essential.
Experience in maintaining a reusable component library and attention to design details in code is required.
Strong organizational skills and a passion for documentation are necessary.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills are required to bridge the gap between design and engineering.
