Description:
Turnitin is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer with hands-on experience in building, automating, and operating large-scale systems.
The role involves collaborating cross-functionally with Engineering, Quality Assurance, and Support teams.
Responsibilities include breaking down large projects into independently workable milestones and stories.
The engineer will contribute to the architectural design and implementation of Turnitin's infrastructure, both on-premise and in AWS.
The position requires contributing readable, testable, maintainable, and documented code through Infrastructure as Code (IaC) systems like Terraform or AWS CloudFormation.
The engineer will also manage configuration for infrastructure using Configuration as Code (IaC) systems like Ansible or Puppet.
Ensuring systems and platforms are fault-tolerant and highly available for both external and internal customers is a key responsibility.
Requirements:
Candidates must have 5+ years of experience with containerization technology (Docker) and administration of distributed container orchestration like Kubernetes or Docker Swarm.
A minimum of 5+ years of experience in creating and executing configuration management using tools like Ansible and Puppet is required.
Candidates should be well-versed in best practices for writing efficient, understandable, and maintainable Infrastructure as Code for at least 5+ years.
A demonstrable experience of 4+ years in troubleshooting full-stack production systems, including network, storage, compute layers, and service dependencies, is necessary.
Experience with continuous integration and delivery platforms such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or Bitbucket Pipelines for 4+ years is required.
Candidates should have 3+ years of experience with microservices, micro front-ends, and distributed architecture.
An interest in log management tools like AWS OpenSearch, Fluentd, and Kibana or Splunk logging is preferred.
A minimum of 4+ years of experience with AWS Cloud and databases such as PostgreSQL, SQL, or DB2 is required.
