Description:

1Password is seeking a Senior Developer (Backend) to join their Billing & Payments team, which is responsible for the critical infrastructure that powers the company's financial operations.
The role is fully remote, available to candidates in the US and Canada.
The ideal candidate will have over 5 years of experience in software development and strong expertise in Go, with a proven ability to mentor others in developing their Go skills.
Responsibilities include leading the development, testing, and debugging of production software systems, collaborating with cross-functional teams, mentoring junior team members, and driving technical design and implementation improvements.
The candidate will also be expected to solve complex technical challenges, stay informed about industry trends, build new test infrastructures, and participate in on-call rotational work.

Requirements:

Candidates must have 5+ years of experience in software development.
Strong expertise in Go is required, along with a track record of mentoring others in Go development.
A passion for software development best practices, coding standards, and design patterns is essential.
Candidates should have experience with asynchronous service-to-service communication and message queues.
The ability to collaborate with non-technical stakeholders to plan and scope technical projects is necessary.
Proven experience in implementing testing methodologies and debugging techniques to ensure high-quality code is required.
Continuous learning, knowledge sharing, and mentoring of developers through pair programming and feedback are expected.

The position offers a competitive annual base salary, with ranges of $153,000 to $207,000 USD for US-based roles and $140,000 to $190,000 CAD for Canada-based roles.
