Description:

Mapbox is the leading real-time location platform for location-aware businesses, providing tools for navigation of people, packages, and vehicles.
The Navigation team develops and operates web services for Mapbox’s strategic navigation initiatives in consumer, automotive, and logistics sectors.
Responsibilities include designing, developing, and operating significant areas of routing services.
The role involves creating new solutions for complex guidance scenarios and developing best-in-class guidance experiences.
The engineer will provide customizable guidance solutions for large OEMs and niche customers, as well as develop tools for groundbreaking mapping and navigation solutions.

Requirements:

Candidates must have experience engineering modern C++ and Linux server applications, or equivalent experience with Go, Rust, or other strongly-typed languages.
Knowledge of operating systems and distributed systems, including fault-tolerance, consistency, and service discovery, is required.
A rigorous approach to problem-solving using experiments and data analysis to improve quality of service is essential.
Candidates should be willing to develop new skills across the full range of the technology stack.
Thorough quality testing of any software built is necessary.
A desire to work with people from diverse backgrounds and geographies is important.
Experience building navigation guidance solutions is a plus.
