Description:
Rubikal LLC has partnered with Oivan to hire a Senior DevOps Engineer in Egypt.
The role involves enabling engineering teams to deliver software quickly and reliably, adhering to the principle of "you build it, you run it."
Responsibilities include managing internal infrastructure products, such as a centralized Kubernetes cluster and managed CI/CD solutions, utilized by over 30 teams with cloud-native applications on AWS.
Daily discussions will focus on scalability, resilience, observability, and resource optimization.
The position emphasizes self-service and a product mindset to enhance impact.
Contributions to the improvement of architecture, engineering practices, and processes across the company are expected.
The engineer will be responsible for the end-to-end operations of the products owned by their team.
Collaboration with a product manager and engineering teams is essential to identify the right problems to solve.
The role includes shaping architecture and technology choices, as well as developing infrastructure products.
Support for other engineers using the team’s products, participation in on-call duties, and troubleshooting production incidents are required.
Close collaboration with experienced colleagues to provide innovative automation tools and create value for Oivan and its clients is expected.
The engineer will work with cloud providers and external technical support on upgrades, design issues, and problem resolution.
Monitoring and tuning systems to ensure optimal performance is part of the job.
Documentation of procedures and architectural designs is necessary.
The engineer will monitor task automation, implement process improvements, and recommend enhancements to increase quality and service.
Requirements:
An appreciation for Infrastructure as Code, Pipeline as Code, Continuous Delivery, and the Accelerate metrics is required.
Experience with IaaS cloud providers such as AWS, Azure, GCP, etc., is essential, ideally with AWS.
Strong familiarity with SRE and/or DevOps principles, architecture design patterns, and practical experience using them is necessary.
Familiarity with core IaaS concepts such as computing, storage, networking, and identity management is required.
Knowledge of observability concepts is essential.
Experience with monitoring technologies such as AWS CloudWatch, Datadog, OpsGenie, and NewRelic is required.
Expertise in one or more scripting languages used in DevOps, such as Python or Ruby, is necessary.
Familiarity with event messaging technologies such as RabbitMQ, Kafka, SNS, and SQS is required.
Strong problem-solving and collaboration skills are essential.
Experience with CI/CD solutions such as GitHub Actions and Jenkins is necessary.
A minimum of 4 years of applicable work experience is required.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential.
