Description:
ChowNow is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to enhance their technology infrastructure.
The role involves building, improving, and growing the technology infrastructure while supporting the application production environment.
Responsibilities include designing and implementing reproducible processes in the enterprise environment and sharing responsibility for production operations.
This is a remote position located in the Greater Victoria Area, including Vancouver, BC.
The position reports to the DevOps Lead Engineer and has no direct reports.

Success in the role includes progressing through onboarding, contributing to development and deployment patterns, participating in planning DevOps projects, and shaping the DevOps roadmap.
Requirements:
Candidates must have 3+ years of experience with DevOps practices.
A minimum of 5+ years of overall infrastructure management experience is required.
At least 3+ years of AWS experience, including EC2, RDS, Lambda, and ECS/Fargate, is necessary.
Experience operating container-based workloads is essential.
Proficiency in at least one programming language, preferably Python, is required.
A solid understanding of Linux operating systems, ideally RedHat/CentOS/Amazon Linux, and networking fundamentals is needed.
Candidates should have a solid foundation in security principles and best practices.
Knowledge of at least one major configuration management and automation framework, preferably Terraform and Ansible, is required.
Hands-on experience with highly available MySQL, PostgreSQL, ElasticSearch, or Redis is necessary.
Experience in setting up and maintaining monitoring, alerting, and logging solutions is required.
Candidates should have experience building CI/CD pipelines and related tooling.
Experience creating scalable systems, preferably in e-commerce or consumer-facing websites, is essential.
Experience contributing to high-level architecture is also required.

The expected base salary range is $119,000 - $131,000 CAD.
