Description:
Experian IT Services (EITS) is the centralized technology organization that globally supports all of Experian, comprised of about 2,000 employees.
The Lead DevOps Engineer will ensure the performance and scalability of infrastructure and applications through monitoring and observability practices.
Responsibilities include leading the design and implementation of observability solutions, establishing best practices, and automating infrastructure provisioning using Infrastructure as Code (IAC) tools like Terraform.
The role involves promoting open telemetry standards, integrating monitoring tools like Dynatrace and Splunk, and guiding the evaluation of new tools.
Collaboration with multiple engineering teams is essential to ensure smooth adoption of new technologies and to analyze existing practices for improvement.
The position also includes mentoring the observability team and fostering a culture of learning and innovation.
Requirements:
Candidates must have 5+ years of DevOps engineering experience.
An Information Technology degree and/or technology certifications are preferred, or substantial equivalent experience is required.
Experience in designing and implementing observability systems for microservices-based applications is necessary.
Candidates should have experience migrating monitoring systems to Prometheus and Grafana and developing alerting systems for performance issues.
Advanced Shell scripting and IaC automation skills with Ansible and Terraform are required.
Familiarity with open telemetry standards and experience with monitoring tools like Dynatrace and Splunk is essential.
Working knowledge of Python and databases (SQL/NoSQL) is needed.
Candidates should have expertise in enterprise monitoring, including APM and custom attribute implementation.
Experience in requirement gathering and rollout of monitoring solutions is necessary.
