Remote Senior DevOps Engineer

Description:

• The Senior DevOps Engineer will play a crucial role in ensuring the reliability, scalability, and performance of the Payroll platform at Employment Hero.
• Responsibilities include leading the design, implementation, and maintenance of highly available and scalable infrastructure and services.
• The role involves optimizing the usage of AWS Technologies to align with industry security best practices.
• The Senior DevOps Engineer will develop and implement best practices for monitoring, alerting, and incident response to ensure system reliability and availability.
• Automation of deployment, configuration, and management processes to streamline operations and enhance efficiency is a key aspect of the role.
• Performance analysis, capacity planning, and proactive scalability challenges addressing are part of the responsibilities.
• Collaboration with software engineering teams to ensure applications are designed for reliability, scalability, and performance.
• Continuous improvement through the evaluation and adoption of new technologies, tools, and methodologies is essential.
• Participation in on-call rotation and timely incident response to minimize impact on users is required.

Requirements:

• Experienced in a similar role with a proven track record of designing and maintaining highly reliable and scalable systems.
• Proficiency in cloud computing platforms like AWS and enforcing secure cloud infrastructure.
• Familiarity with .NET and Microsoft services such as Windows Server and MS SQL.
• Strong knowledge of Elastic Beanstalk and containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes (EKS).
• Experience with monitoring and logging tools like Datadog and Sentry.
• Solid understanding of networking concepts and protocols.
• Proficiency in scripting and automation using languages like C#, Ruby, or TypeScript.
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment.
• Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Passion for learning and sharing knowledge, willingness to challenge peers, and be challenged.
• English language abilities, both written and verbal, for global collaboration.
