Description:
We are seeking an experienced Cloud Architect with deep expertise in VMware Cloud Foundation to join our dynamic team at Kyivstar.Tech.
In this role, you will lead the architecture, deployment, and management of hybrid cloud environments built primarily on VMware technologies.
Familiarity with AWS is considered a strong advantage, as AWS is a part of our hybrid infrastructure.
This is a technical leadership position, where you will work across infrastructure, DevOps, and development units to design secure, scalable, and efficient cloud architectures.
You will lead architecture and implementation of hybrid cloud solutions, with a primary focus on VMware Cloud Foundation (vSphere, NSX, vSAN, vCenter, VMware Aria Suite).
You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, deploy, and manage hybrid cloud environments that integrate on-prem and cloud-based workloads.
You will support cloud adoption and modernization strategies, including on-prem to cloud migration, cloud-native refactoring, and hybrid scenarios.
You will define and implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, VMware Aria Automation Orchestrator, or CloudFormation.
You will establish and enforce security best practices, governance policies, and compliance controls for cloud environments.
You will monitor and optimize cloud resource utilization to improve cost efficiency and performance.
You will guide DevOps and development teams in leveraging cloud platforms effectively, including CI/CD best practices.
You will provide expert guidance and documentation for architecture decisions, standards, and operational procedures.
You will mentor junior engineers and contribute to knowledge-sharing across the organization.
You will support presale activities.
Requirements:
You must have 5+ years of experience in IT infrastructure and operations.
You need 3+ years of hands-on cloud architecture experience, with a strong focus on VMware Cloud Foundation stack.
Strong Linux experience is required.
You should have deep knowledge of vSphere, NSX, vSAN, vCenter, and VMware Aria Automation/Operations.
A solid understanding of hybrid infrastructure patterns, including networking (VPN, VPC, Direct Connect), identity and access management, and multi-site setups is necessary.
Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, VMware Aria Automation, and optionally CloudFormation is required.
Experience with Configuration Management Engines like Puppet, Salt, Ansible/AWX/AAP, Chef, or CFEngine is a plus.
You should have experience with CI/CD pipelines, automation, and modern DevOps practices.
Working knowledge of AWS services such as EC2, IAM, S3, and advanced networking (VPC, VPN, TGW, Direct Connect) is a plus.
Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools (Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus.
Familiarity with VMware Tanzu is a plus.
You must understand cloud security controls and data protection strategies.
Strong communication and collaboration skills are essential; you should be able to interact with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Enterprise hardware hands-on experience is a plus.
An English level of B2 or higher is required.
