Description:
As a Senior DevOps Engineer at 3Pillar, you will be responsible for ensuring the stability and health of our platform.
You will foster developer-run ownership and empower developers to build resilient products.
Your role includes supporting developers during the application build phase with operational design, automation, capacity planning, and monitoring.
You will plan, manage, and oversee all aspects of the production environment for merchant loyalty use cases.
Defining strategies for observability and identifying areas of improvement in production will be key responsibilities.
You will respond to incidents and improve the platform based on feedback, aiming to reduce incidents over time.
Ensuring reliable, fault-tolerant, efficiently scalable, and cost-effective services and infrastructure is essential.
You will maintain services post-launch by measuring and monitoring availability, latency, and overall system health.
Practicing sustainable incident response and conducting blameless postmortems will be part of your duties.
You will create and execute queries to big data platforms and relational data tables to identify process issues or perform mass updates.
Isolating problems between hardware and software and analyzing ITSM activities to provide feedback to development teams will be required.
Supporting services before they go live through system design consulting, capacity planning, and launch reviews is expected.
You will work with a global team across multiple geographies and time zones.
Requirements:
A Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or a similar field is required.
You must have experience in Splunk and SignalFx.
Proficiency with Amazon Web Services, including RDS, is necessary.
Relevant experience in data DevOps, SRE, or general systems engineering is required.
You should have experience managing large production platforms.
Experience in architecting and implementing data governance processes and tooling is essential.
Strong coding ability in Python or other languages such as Java, C#, Golang, C, C++, Perl, or Ruby is required.
A systematic problem-solving approach, strong communication skills, and a sense of ownership are desired.
You should be able to debug and optimize code and automate routine tasks.
Experience in dealing with difficult situations and making urgent decisions is needed.
An interest in designing, analyzing, and troubleshooting large-scale distributed systems is preferred.
You should have a good handle on Change Management and Release Management aspects of software.
