Remote Senior DevOps Engineer (Azure experience is must & AKS)

Description:

• The Senior DevOps Engineer is responsible for implementing and maintaining the DevOps process of XA Group’s on-premises and cloud environments.
• The role involves ensuring that the DevOps processes are configured to industry standards to achieve optimal workload balancing between on-premises and cloud.
• Responsibilities include developing innovative solutions in the cloud, delivering cloud migration projects, and supporting development teams with DevOps technologies such as CI/CD pipelines and configuration management.
• The engineer will monitor and improve the engagement, scaling, security, and robustness of cloud services.
• CI/CD orchestration will be a key focus, allowing XA Group Digital teams to concentrate on delivery by automatically building commits, running tests, and deploying to environments.
• The role requires performing and automating service orchestration, including patching, monitoring, and logging.
• Providing feedback on development or engineering methodologies, standards, and industry-standard practices is essential.
• The engineer will maintain and promote the DevOps culture and ways of working across XA Group Digital.
• The position involves working towards automation and streamlining upcoming SaaS operation practices in collaboration with XA Group Digital teams.
• The engineer will work within an agile delivery methodology in a senior engineer role as part of a wider team.
• Responsibilities also include implementing various development, testing, automation tools, and IT infrastructure.
• Core system administration, monitoring, management, and maintenance of existing operational services are required.
• The engineer will assist in the development and testing of new applications and solutions.
• Investigating, diagnosing, and resolving software and application faults is part of the role.
• The engineer may work on project deliverables in isolation when necessary.
• Preparing reports or correspondence concerning project specifications, activities, or status is expected.
• Scheduled maintenance and support for release deployment activities after office hours will be required.
• The engineer must ensure availability to support critical production applications on a 24x7 basis to comply with the SLA as needed.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have 5+ years of experience in a similar role or operational experience in Cloud Services or in a DevOps team.
• Solid experience with pipeline tools like Azure DevOps Pipelines and Jenkins is required.
• Candidates must have solid experience working within at least one of the main cloud service providers, specifically Azure.
• An understanding of software development lifecycle methodologies and demonstrated DevOps skills is necessary.
• Experience with agile development methodologies such as Scrum is required.
• Candidates should possess coding/scripting knowledge for automation of infrastructure provisioning.
• A solid understanding of Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles and practices is essential.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Azure Platform As A Service (PaaS) products such as Azure SQL, AppServices, Logic Apps, Functions, and other Serverless services is required.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Azure Operational and Monitoring tools, including Azure Monitor, App Insights, and Log Analytics, is necessary.
• Candidates should have knowledge of PowerShell, Git, ARM templates, and deployment automation.
• Experience with containers, specifically Docker, is required.
• Knowledge of container orchestration using Kubernetes is essential.
• Familiarity with Azure Infrastructure as a Service (IAAS) is necessary.
• Candidates should be familiar with quality gate checks in pipelines, such as Static Code Analysis/Unit Tests and tools like SonarCloud.
• Experience in API management tools, such as Azure API Management, would be a plus.
