Description:
Bixal is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to manage and maintain a moderately complex Drupal application and development team.
The role involves ensuring team success through modern agile and DevOps best practices.
Responsibilities include creating and supporting developers in building pipelines using task runners like Gitlab, Bitbucket Pipelines, CircleCI, and Travis CI.
The engineer will create and support container images for web applications and automate container image scanning from various CVE and IAVA exploit lists.
The position requires implementing production and testing infrastructure utilizing infrastructure as code.
Troubleshooting and resolving complex issues related to cloud infrastructure and applications is a key responsibility.
The engineer must ensure images follow best security practices and comply with federal, PCI, and FEDRamp standards.
The role includes creating appropriate container runtime systems to support the development of various federal datacenters and improving legacy VM-based pipelines and deployments.
The position operates in a fast-paced Agile environment.
Requirements:
A Bachelor's Degree and at least 3+ years of relevant experience are required.
Candidates must have advanced experience in cloud computing, with knowledge of at least one major cloud platform (e.g., AWS, Azure, or GCP).
Experience collaborating with developers on dynamic web application stacks (e.g., LAMP, LEMP, MERN, MEAN, Django) is necessary.
Advanced experience with the Linux operating system (e.g., Debian, RHEL, Ubuntu) is required.
Candidates must have advanced experience with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) and DevOps tools and methodologies (e.g., Git, Jenkins, CI/CD pipelines).
Advanced experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) principles and tools (e.g., CloudFormation, Terraform) is essential.
An advanced understanding of networking, security, and virtualization principles is required.
Experience using testing frameworks (e.g., Cypress) and testing web applications, APIs, and content management systems is necessary.
Candidates should have experience with monitoring and logging tools such as DataDog and identity and access management tools like IAM, OAuth, and zero-trust security models.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills are required.
A proven track record of driving innovation and best practices in cloud computing is necessary.
Candidates must be able to pass and maintain a Public Trust Security Clearance.
