We are a Polish branch of a fast-growing InsurTech product company from Silicon Valley, Hippo Insurance, aiming to revolutionize home insurance in the US.
The Senior DevOps Engineer will collaborate closely with various stakeholders, including Product Managers, Engineering Managers, and developers.
This independent position requires strong technical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a knack for mentoring and knowledge-sharing.
The role involves building a world-class scalable and resilient infrastructure for the Hippo platform.
Responsibilities include providing tools, metrics, CI/CD processes, and self-service tools to enhance developer productivity.
The engineer will work with various cloud providers, databases, and open-source tools like Terraform, Vault, Kubernetes, and Docker.
Daily tasks will involve using Golang, Python, and scripting languages like bash to build and scale tools, APIs, and serverless functions.
The position offers creative freedom and ownership of projects, along with opportunities for skill development and learning about the tech business in the US.

Requirements:

Candidates must have at least 6 years of experience in DevOps, SRE, or Systems Engineering, with knowledge of build/release automation.
Proficiency in Golang, Python, or Bash is required, with at least one of these languages being essential.
Understanding of AWS VPC or GCP networking, including concepts like network separation, security groups, and ACLs, is necessary.
Hands-on experience with tools such as Kubernetes, Docker, CI/CD systems, and Terraform is expected.
Candidates should be comfortable working with logging and metrics systems to ensure smooth operations.
Enjoyment of working in a small, focused, and highly efficient team is important.
A good command of English (written and spoken) is required.
Availability in the afternoons is necessary due to collaboration with the United States, with evening meetings potentially occurring.

The salary ranges from 24,000 to 30,000 PLN + VAT on B2B or equivalent on the contract of employment.
