Remote Senior DevOps Engineer

Description:

• The Senior DevOps Engineer will work on a suite of web and mobile applications to enhance Opal’s DevOps compliance footprint, tools, and infrastructure.
• Responsibilities include developing hardening guidelines for Linux/Unix hosts, cloud deployments, and web application frameworks.
• The role involves maintaining technologies like Terraform, Kubernetes, Azure, PostgreSQL, and more.
• Providing solutions for security, automation, and monitoring in various languages such as Bash, Go, Ruby, and Javascript.
• Administering data storage systems, securing web application servers, and planning remediation for vulnerabilities.
• Collaborating with different teams to automate workflows, improve performance, and support customer needs.
• The position requires documenting processes, educating team members, and supporting a variety of technologies.

Requirements:

• 5+ years of DevOps experience supporting enterprise-grade web applications.
• Ability to work effectively with diverse communities and cultures.
• Proficiency in Azure and/or AWS ecosystems with knowledge of modern web application architectures.
• Experience with infrastructure as code, cloud hosting, and containerized technologies like Docker.
• Familiarity with managing databases, debugging performance issues, and ensuring smooth data migrations.
• Strong project management skills, ability to drive initiatives, and knowledge of security technologies.
• Undergraduate degree or equivalent related working experience.
