Description:

  • BitMEX is a globally leading exchange for crypto derivatives, offering a professional-grade trading platform since 2014 with an impeccable security record.
  • The platform provides low latency, deep liquidity, and maximum availability for cryptocurrency derivatives traders, with over 100 derivatives contracts and 16 pairs for spot trading.
  • As a Senior DevOps Engineer (Network Specialist), you will be part of the Platform Engineering team, responsible for managing and supporting the infrastructure that drives the BitMEX platform.
  • Your focus will be on monitoring and optimizing network performance to support the low-latency, high throughput operation of the trading exchange.
  • Key responsibilities include improving the resiliency, throughput, and latency of trading systems, managing AWS cloud infrastructure, developing and managing Infrastructure as Code (IaC), ensuring security hardening, and integrating with Kubernetes.
  • You will also design and test disaster recovery capabilities and participate in an on-call rota for escalations.

Requirements:

  • Candidates must have theoretical and practical networking knowledge, including unicast and multicast routing protocols, Linux kernel’s TCP stack implementation, and AWS VPC.
  • Professional experience with kernel troubleshooting and userland monitoring tools is required.
  • A minimum of 5 years of SRE/DevOps experience supporting and managing Linux-based systems is necessary, along with strong practical AWS knowledge.
  • A degree in computer science or engineering is preferred, with a strong understanding of fundamental Computer Science principles.
  • Familiarity with Kubernetes, Ansible, Chef, and programming languages such as Python, Golang, C, or NodeJS is essential.
