Description:
ClickHouse is a company that develops a high-performance columnar OLAP database management system for real-time analytics.
The Observability team is responsible for the observability platform that monitors internal services and customer instances of ClickHouse Cloud.
The Senior DevOps Engineer will design, build, operate, and maintain components of a petabyte-scale platform that processes tens of millions of events every second.
The role includes managing the Product Metrics component, which is crucial for internal billing and customer-facing dashboards.
Responsibilities include determining the roadmap for Product Metrics, delivering new features, ensuring performance and reliability, mentoring team members, participating in on-call rotations, and improving observability across engineering teams.
Requirements:
Candidates must have 5+ years of relevant software development experience in building and operating scalable, fault-tolerant, distributed systems.
Proficiency in at least one programming language is required, with a preference for Go, but familiarity with Python, C, C++, Rust, or similar languages is acceptable.
Experience with major Cloud Service Providers such as AWS, GCP, or Azure is necessary.
Candidates should have experience with data streaming/message brokering systems like Kafka or RedPanda.
Familiarity with technologies such as Kubernetes, Helm, ArgoCD, Temporal, and infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform is required.
