Description:
Mattermost is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to join the Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) team within Platform Engineering.
The role focuses on revolutionizing testing infrastructure automation to enhance developer productivity, accelerate product launches, and improve customer experiences.
Responsibilities include developing, deploying, and maintaining scalable testing infrastructure automation for the Mattermost Platform.
The engineer will drive innovation in automated testing systems using AI-driven methodologies and tool integrations.
The position involves establishing self-serve capabilities for developers to independently iterate and deploy high-quality features.
Collaboration with cross-functional teams is essential to ensure seamless integration of testing frameworks and pipelines into the software development lifecycle.
The engineer will work on improving site reliability and platform scalability while identifying and resolving inefficiencies in testing and operational practices.
Efforts will be made to reduce technical debt and automate repetitive processes to enhance feedback cycles and overall experiences.
Continuous evaluation of platform performance and testing effectiveness will be conducted using data-driven insights.
The engineer will advocate for and implement DevOps best practices that scale across Mattermost’s ecosystem.
Requirements:
Candidates must have deep experience in DevOps and SRE roles, including designing, building, and maintaining automated pipelines and infrastructure.
Expertise in DevOps tools and practices is required, including CI/CD pipelines, containerization platforms (Docker, Kubernetes), and infrastructure as code (Terraform, Ansible).
A proven track record of driving innovation in automated testing and process optimization is essential, particularly with AI-driven testing methodologies.
Strong skills in scripting and programming (e.g., Python, Go, Shell) for building automation frameworks are necessary.
Familiarity with modern monitoring and observability tools to optimize system reliability and performance is required.
A collaborative mindset with excellent communication skills is essential for effective work across distributed, cross-functional teams.
A strong commitment to operational excellence, secure software delivery, and achieving high-quality outcomes for developers and customers is expected.
Benefits:
The salary for this position ranges from $145,000 to $175,000 a year.
