Description:

  • Dscout, a company specializing in user research tools, is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to help scale their platform.
  • The ideal candidate should have experience with AWS infrastructure and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.
  • They should have a product mindset, collaborate with application developers and quality engineers, and use metrics to drive decisions.
  • The company values technical quality, collaboration, and fast-paced deployment to production.
  • The platform is built on React.js, Elixir, GraphQL APIs, PostgreSQL, and hosted on AWS. It also includes mobile apps, live video streaming, NLP, and media processing.
  • The DevOps architecture includes AWS, S3, CloudFront, CloudFlare CDNs, Postgres, Terraform, Cloudflare WAF, CI/CD, and observability tools like DataDog and Honeybadger.
  • Responsibilities include working with the DevOps team, collaborating with Engineering, designing and implementing DevOps solutions, ensuring platform stability, and adopting security best practices.
  • Requirements include 4-6 years of engineering experience, 2 years in a DevOps role, expertise in AWS infrastructure, IoC tools, Linux, Docker, observability tools, and security principles.

Requirements:

  • 4-6 years of experience in any engineering role.
  • At least 2 years of experience in a DevOps engineer role specifically.
  • Expertise in designing, creating, and managing AWS infrastructure.
  • Proficiency in using IoC tools (Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible, etc) for cloud infrastructure management.
  • Experience with Linux, shell scripting, and a scripting language.
  • Familiarity with modern tools like Docker, GitHub, CircleCi, etc.
  • Understanding of how DevOps design influences application architecture and SDLC.
  • Experience with observability tools, troubleshooting, monitoring, and alarming.
  • Solid grasp of security principles and designing with a security-first approach.
