Description:

  • Shippo is a shipping layer of the internet, aiming to make merchants successful through world-class shipping solutions.
  • The Senior Director of App Product will work cross-functionally with go-to-market and product stakeholders to enhance shipping experiences for SMB merchants.
  • The role involves understanding merchant shipping workflows and designing optimal solutions for them.
  • Responsibilities include defining and implementing the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for the app, ensuring alignment with company goals and customer needs.
  • The director will lead and mentor a team of product managers to deliver high-quality app features for over 100,000 merchants worldwide.
  • The position requires collaboration with engineering, marketing, sales, and customer support to drive product initiatives and ensure successful launches.
  • The director will own and drive Shippo’s understanding of SMBs through market research and competitive analysis.
  • Prioritization of product roadmap items will be based on customer feedback, stakeholder input, and data analytics.
  • The role includes overseeing the product development process and partnering closely with engineering and design for timely delivery of features.
  • Monitoring and analyzing key performance metrics to drive continuous improvement and optimize user experience is essential.
  • The director will act as an advocate for the app within the organization, communicating product vision and updates to stakeholders and executive leadership.
  • Staying updated with industry trends and best practices is crucial to maintain competitiveness and innovation in the mobile app.

Requirements:

  • Candidates must have 10+ years of experience with a strong focus on building B2B products for retail brands in high transaction volume environments.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in building and managing high-performing product teams is required.
  • A demonstrable track record of successfully leading and growing app products with a large user base is essential.
  • Experience in logistics, fulfillment, and e-commerce shipping products and services is necessary.
  • A deep understanding of Agile methodologies and product management tools such as JIRA is required.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills are needed to influence and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Candidates should have a deep understanding of brand/retail customers with strong B2C e-commerce experience.
  • At least 3 years of experience working in fast-paced environments, building and scaling B2B SaaS products is required.
