DoseSpot is a PE-backed start-up and a leader in the electronic prescribing software market, with its subsidiary pVerify specializing in insurance verification solutions.
The company is experiencing hyper-growth at the intersection of software and healthcare, aiming to improve the healthcare experience for patients and doctors.
The Senior Director of Software Engineering will shape and drive the technical vision, strategy, and execution across the engineering organization.
This role reports to the CTO and oversees fully remote and global engineering teams responsible for multiple product lines, focusing on reliability, scalability, and security.
The individual will collaborate with cross-functional leaders to align engineering goals with business objectives and ensure high execution levels.
Responsibilities include defining and implementing the engineering vision, translating business strategies into actionable roadmaps, mentoring engineering managers, and overseeing key performance indicators (KPIs).
The role also involves establishing engineering best practices, building a high-performing team with a focus on AI capabilities, and fostering a unified engineering culture.
The Senior Director will provide technical leadership in AI, troubleshoot critical issues, and collaborate with the CTO and Product team on prioritizing features and enhancements.
The position requires effective communication with senior leadership and other departments regarding engineering progress and challenges.
Requirements:
A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is required; a Master's degree is preferred.
Candidates must have 12+ years of experience in software engineering, with at least 5 years in a leadership role overseeing large teams and complex projects.
Proven leadership skills are necessary, with a history of managing and scaling high-performing engineering teams and fostering a proactive culture.
Experience in navigating complex challenges within a high-growth environment is essential.
A deep understanding of software development life cycles, agile methodologies, and continuous delivery practices is required.
Strong knowledge of industry trends, emerging AI technologies, and competitive landscapes is necessary to keep the company’s AI initiatives at the forefront.
Candidates should have a strong knowledge of cloud architecture, microservices, and healthcare data security regulations (HIPAA, HITRUST).
Strategic thinking, excellent problem-solving, and project management skills are required.
Excellent communication skills are necessary to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and influence at all organizational levels.
