The Senior Engineer will join the Analytics team of a high-growth Population Health and Analytics software company, reporting to the Manager of SAS Engineering.
This role involves the creation of high-value analytics for Arcadia customers, focusing on processing data in SAS to improve healthcare delivery.
The ideal candidate should be passionate about data analysis and eager to share SAS expertise to help build, optimize, and productionalize recurring analytics that fuel Arcadia's Analytics Products.
Success in this role includes gaining familiarity with Arcadia's SAS Common Claims model, onboarding onto CMS VRDC, and serving as an expert in optimizing VRDC Code within 12 months.
Responsibilities include working closely with Analysts and SAS Engineers to maintain a robust pipeline, optimizing and structuring code for quarterly reporting, maintaining quarterly refreshes of productionalized data, and suggesting new utilities and SOPs for efficient operations.
Requirements:
A degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Public Health, or related fields is required.
A minimum of 4 years of SAS Programming experience is necessary, ideally with some experience in Healthcare Claims Data.
Extensive experience in SAS functionality is required, including data steps, macros, parallel processing, code optimization, and proc SQL.
The ability to identify data issues and evaluate their impact is essential, along with an understanding of analytics and data manipulation.
Experience with healthcare codes such as ICD9, ICD10, CPT, HCPCS, DRG, etc., is preferred.
A working knowledge of database principles, processes, technologies, and tools is desired.
Effective written and verbal communication skills are necessary.
A passion for working with large quantities of data and extracting meaningful insights from databases is highly valued.
