Description:

WorkMotion is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to join their Finance Engineering team.
The role involves building and scaling technology that powers invoicing, finance, and company systems.
Responsibilities include designing, implementing, and maintaining backend features related to finance and invoicing systems.
The engineer will collaborate with DevOps and adhere to best practices such as CI/CD, monitoring, and the "You build it, you run it" principle.
The position requires reviewing code contributions from other engineers and providing constructive feedback.
The engineer will also diagnose and troubleshoot production issues and support root cause analysis efforts.
Candidates must be based within 2 hours of the Central European Timezone to ensure work-life balance.

Requirements:

Candidates must have 6+ years of professional experience in backend development using Java.
Strong proficiency with Spring Boot and Java-based microservices and event-based architecture is required.
A solid understanding of designing scalable, maintainable, and secure systems is essential.
Experience with relational and NoSQL databases such as PostgreSQL and MongoDB is necessary.
Familiarity with NoSQL databases, particularly MongoDB, is expected.
Candidates should have experience in designing and building RESTful APIs.
Hands-on experience with AWS services and modern DevOps tools and practices is required.
