Description:
The Senior Microsoft 365 Engineer is responsible for responding to level two issues and escalations from the Network Operations Center or service desk.
The main focus of this position is on M365 Security.
The engineer will proactively work with senior members of the managed services practice to provide exceptional support for the managed client portfolio.
Responsibilities include reacting to and resolving cases submitted or alerted by monitoring tools.
The engineer will troubleshoot advanced issues and provide solution options and recommendations.
Proactive escalation within the M365 tenant environment is required.
Conducting proactive performance assessments of clients' M365 environments to identify opportunities for optimization and improvement is essential.
The engineer will aid other team members in resolving cases within their skillset.
Assisting with information gathering and reporting to clients or Client Success Managers is part of the role.
Collaboration with senior engineers to escalate issues as needed is expected.
The engineer will develop, maintain, and update technical knowledge base articles.
Some client interactions will be required.
Collaboration with peers across the Managed Services Practice is necessary.
Participation in an on-call rotation is required.
After hours and weekend work may be necessary.
All other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Candidates must have 3 to 5 years of technical support and/or design and implementation experience with Microsoft 365 Collaboration technologies for a Managed Services Provider.
Knowledge of Entra ID, including Conditional Access Policies, MFA, and Privileged Identity Management, is required.
Experience with Microsoft Defender, including Endpoint, Policies, XDR, Cloud workload protections, and DLP Policies, is necessary.
Proficiency in Microsoft Exchange Online and Online Protection is required.
Candidates should have experience with Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Management and Microsoft Intune.
Knowledge of Mobile Device/Mobile Application management is essential.
Familiarity with Microsoft SharePoint Online, Microsoft Teams, and Microsoft OneDrive for Business is required.
Candidates must have knowledge of Microsoft 365 cloud solutions and management and administration.
Scripting for automation, such as PowerShell or VBScript, is necessary.
At least one of the following certifications is required: MS-102, SC-200, SC-300, or SC-900.
