Remote Senior Engineer (ROR)

Description:

• Velotio Technologies, a product engineering company, is seeking a Senior Engineer (ROR) to design and develop next-generation enterprise software products.
• The role involves leading teams of engineers, QA, and DevOps, hands-on coding, and collaborating with CXOs at fast-paced startups.
• The position offers a high degree of ownership and autonomy in a remote work environment.

Requirements:

• Lead the creation, development, and implementation of critical system design changes, enhancements, and software projects.
• Ensure timely execution of project deliverables.
• Collaborate with other engineers to maintain system and product consistency.
• Enhance product quality, performance, and security through process improvements.
• Adhere to development standards and promote best practices.
• Conduct code review sessions and provide suggestions for improvements.

Desired Skills and Experience:

• Must have 5+ years of software development experience with a strong background in Ruby on Rails.
• Proficiency in writing SQL queries against a relational database.
• Comfortable working in a Linux environment.
• Experience in REST and effective web services design.
• Familiarity with version control systems like Git.
• Nice to have: Front-end development experience with Backbone.js and JavaScript.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field (or equivalent experience).
