Remote Senior Engineer (Ruby On Rails) at Velotio Technologies

Velotio Technologies, a product engineering company, is seeking a Senior Engineer with expertise in Ruby on Rails, Elixir/Phoenix, and/or Django/Python.
The role involves designing, architecting, and developing complex enterprise software and SaaS web applications using modern web stack technologies.
Responsibilities include building highly scalable, high-performance web applications, taking ownership of core product features, translating requirements into high-quality code, and mentoring team members.
The ideal candidate will enjoy staying ahead of the curve, building well-architected software products, and collaborating with a team of geeks, architects, and leads.

Must have 4+ years of production experience with modern web frameworks, specifically Ruby on Rails.
Sound experience in developing scalable/distributed SaaS apps and working with REST API implementations, JSON format handling, caching, sessions, multi-threading, etc.
Proficiency in database schema design, SQL & NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, Redis, Elasticsearch, DynamoDB), and API development (REST and GraphQL).
Familiarity with code quality practices, data structures, algorithms, design patterns, and software engineering best practices.
Strong communication skills and a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
