Description:
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Financial Data Systems Engineer to architect, develop, and oversee a mission-critical financial data processing system.
This role is integral to our operations, ensuring the seamless integration, processing, and delivery of diverse transactional data essential for financial reporting, critical reconciliation processes, and strategic decision-making.
Responsibilities include architecting a scalable and secure financial data processing system aligned with corporate objectives and compliance requirements.
The engineer will develop advanced automation solutions for the seamless integration of transactional data from multiple internal platforms and external sources.
They will oversee the standardization and normalization of complex and frequently changing transactional data formats from a variety of global sources.
Ensuring data integrity, accuracy, and consistency is a key responsibility.
The engineer will monitor system performance rigorously, implementing proactive measures to guarantee uptime and reliability.
Establishing and maintaining disaster recovery protocols and failover mechanisms to protect against data loss and service interruptions is essential.
Leading initiatives for system optimization, scaling, and the integration of new technologies is expected.
The engineer will evaluate and implement industry best practices to enhance system efficiency and effectiveness.
They will design and implement system features that facilitate the financial department's ability to perform reporting, audit, and data reconciliation effectively.
Providing robust data outputs and interfaces that support reporting, audit, and reconciliation activities, including reporting tools, dashboards, and data validation mechanisms, is required.
The engineer will work closely with the financial department to understand their needs and translate them into technical solutions within the system.
Ensuring that the system's functionalities align with the department's workflows and enhance their efficiency is crucial.
Compliance with relevant financial regulations and internal policies in all data handling and processing activities is mandatory.
Staying abreast of regulatory changes that may impact data processing and reporting is necessary.
Maintaining detailed documentation of system architectures, processes, configurations, and changes is required.
Documenting features and functionalities that support the financial department's reconciliation processes is also part of the role.
Requirements:
A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Finance, Engineering, or a related discipline is required.
A minimum of 7-10 years of experience in data engineering, system architecture, or a similar role within the financial services industry is necessary.
A proven track record in building and maintaining large-scale, mission-critical data systems is essential.
Experience in developing systems that support financial data reconciliation processes is required.
Expertise in Python is mandatory.
Expertise in automation and scripting for ETL processes and system maintenance is necessary.
A deep understanding of SQL is required.
Proficiency in data modeling, warehousing, and handling large volumes of diverse transactional data is essential.
Experience with data ingestion from varied sources including APIs, file transfers, and messaging systems is necessary.
Knowledge of developing user interfaces and/or APIs that facilitate data access and manipulation by other departments is required.
Experience with AWS is necessary.
Familiarity with DevOps practices, continuous integration, and deployment tools is required.
