Description:
The Senior Front End Engineer is responsible for creating clean, efficient, standards compliant HTML, CSS, and JavaScript across a wide range of web sites and web applications.
The engineer must be capable of taking on any size and complexity of Front End projects.
They should be able to deliver the Front End portion of projects on time and on budget.
The role involves evaluating frameworks, technologies, and tools to determine their relevance to specific projects or the wider department.
The engineer will work closely with team members from various departments.
They must manage multiple projects and responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
The engineer will write the majority of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript on a project based on prototypes, designs, and functional documentation.
They will collaborate with the Front End Architect to understand project needs and learn new development technologies.
The role includes collaborating with back end engineers to ensure seamless integration of components.
The engineer must identify and raise potential project risks to the team and help to alleviate those risks.
Expert knowledge of JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3 is required.
Knowledge of one or more JavaScript frameworks, preferably React, is necessary, along with familiarity with other frameworks such as Angular, Vue, or Svelte.
A strong command of web standards, responsive design, accessibility, and cross-browser compatibility is essential.
Experience with Git and developing large web sites and web applications is required.
Experience building headless architectures and with cloud services (Azure, AWS, Google Cloud) is necessary.
Nice to have skills include GraphQL and Sitecore or other enterprise CMS experience.
Requirements:
Candidates must have 5+ years in similar roles.
A minimum of 3+ years working with React is required.
Agency experience is preferred.
Proficiency in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, with a track record of successful project delivery is necessary.
Candidates should have experience evaluating and implementing front-end technologies, focusing on React.
A strong understanding of web development standards and best practices is required.
Familiarity with version control systems like Git and modern web development tools is necessary.
Previous experience in developing large-scale websites and web applications is essential.
