Remote Senior Front-end Software Engineer (Full-Time Contractor)

Description:

• We are seeking Senior Front-End Engineers (full-time contractors) in South America to join our engineering team and contribute to our growth and expansion.
• The main focus of this role is building frontend experiences in React, with additional knowledge in backend services & technologies like Ruby on Rails and/or Golang being a plus.
• Our company operates in a collaborative environment with Product and Design teams to create meaningful customer experiences.
• Engineers at Varsity Tutors actively participate in discussions on system and solution development.
• Nerdy, the parent company of Varsity Tutors, is a leading platform for live online learning, utilizing technology like Machine Learning and AI to connect learners with experts across various subjects and formats.

Requirements:

• Must have experience with React, Typescript, Node.js, Next.js, and familiarity with Golang and Ruby on Rails.
• Proficiency in deployment systems such as GitHub Actions and AWS CodeDeploy.
• Familiarity with AWS Services like RDS, Lambda, EC2, and Linux operating system.
• Understanding of OO design, algorithms, data structures, and ability to learn new languages and technologies quickly.
• Experience in developing high-traffic websites, improving SEO performance, and holding a Computer Science or related degree.
• Fluent in English.
