Remote Senior Frontend Engineer

Description:

• Odeko is on a mission to support neighborhood cafes and coffee shops through technology, helping small business owners save time and reduce CO2 emissions.
• The Senior Frontend Engineer will create user experiences that deliver value, focusing on applications that are closest to users while working across the tech stack.
• Engineers at Odeko are expected to innovate and improve how small businesses operate, working independently and driving projects from start to finish.
• Responsibilities include building, optimizing, and scaling products for cafe owners and users, prototyping new ideas, and interacting with stakeholders such as Product, Design, Marketing, and Operations.
• The tech stack includes Ruby/Rails, React Native/Web (Typescript/JavaScript), Federated GraphQL, and Kafka, with a microservices architecture on Kubernetes, Docker, and AWS.
• Daily tasks involve building and supporting production applications, participating in on-call rotations, designing and implementing full-stack development, collaborating on solutions, and ensuring high-quality software delivery.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have experience in full-stack or front-end focused software engineering.
• Proficiency in Ruby/Rails, React Native/Web (Typescript/JavaScript), and familiarity with microservices architecture is required.
• Strong problem-solving skills with an analytical and pragmatic approach are essential.
• Ability to design, architect, implement, and test full-stack development is necessary.
• Candidates should be comfortable collaborating with various stakeholders and mentoring other developers.
• A proactive attitude towards research and learning new technologies is expected.
• This is an L3 role with a compensation range of $130,000 - $150,000 depending on experience.
