Remote Senior Frontend Engineer

Description:

• Monte Carlo is seeking a Senior Frontend Engineer to take significant ownership in building its cloud application.
• The role involves end-to-end development, from formulating customer requirements and designs to full production implementation.
• The engineer will collaborate with a small team of seasoned engineers, impacting the product and customers significantly.
• Responsibilities include owning substantial projects from inception to deployment, working with the product team and stakeholders to deliver value to customers, and laying a solid web foundation for other engineers.
• The engineer will optimize UI and application code for performance, quality, and maintainability.
• The role requires navigating ambiguity while creatively solving problems and pursuing solutions to difficult challenges.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have 5+ years of experience delivering production-grade frontend code, performing code reviews, and working on full-stack design and architecture of applications.
• A minimum of 2+ years of recent React experience is required.
• Strong Javascript skills and experience developing with the React framework on a large, complex codebase are essential.
• Experience with testing frameworks such as react-testing-library, playwright, or cypress is required.
• Candidates should have experience tech-leading critical projects or initiatives within their team and organization.
• The ability to thrive and communicate effectively with the team in a fast-paced environment is necessary.
• Candidates should be product-minded and user-driven, pragmatic, and biased towards action, with the ability to see the bigger picture and reason about prioritization and scope.
