Description:
ClickUp is seeking a Senior Frontend Engineer to join their SaaS client performance team, focusing on developing comprehensive performance solutions and strategies from the customer's perspective.
The role requires a strong understanding of JavaScript in browsers and NodeJS, as well as knowledge of browser rendering and its impact on user experience, including memory management and performance optimization.
Responsibilities include leading root cause analysis on client performance issues, profiling application code to identify inefficiencies, and recommending fixes to improve performance.
The engineer will set up performance monitoring and dashboards to proactively identify client performance problems and analyze client traffic patterns and load testing results.
The role also involves advocating for performance best practices within the engineering organization and identifying infrastructure improvements to enhance client experience.
Collaboration with development teams to implement performance best practices in new feature development is essential.
Requirements:
Candidates should have 5+ years of experience in performance engineering or a performance-minded product engineering background.
Experience with profiling tools for browsers and NodeJS is required.
A deep understanding of performance metrics, reporting, and analysis across the full product stack is necessary.
The ability to analyze metrics, logs, and load test results to identify performance gaps is essential.
Strong knowledge of web/mobile app architectures, HTTP protocols, caching, databases, and load balancing concepts is required.
A problem-solving attitude with the ability to balance client performance and development team needs is important.
Candidates should have a passion for optimizing and improving client experiences and the ability to quickly isolate performance issues.
Past experience in optimizing SQL and databases is preferred, along with fluency in data structure and algorithm optimizations.
