Description:
As a Senior Frontend Engineer at Canva, you will collaborate with a diverse team of Frontend, Backend, and Machine Learning Engineers to integrate cutting-edge AI technology into the core editing experience.
You will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing solutions for complex Design AI challenges, working closely with various team members such as ML engineers, backend engineers, designers, and product managers.
Your role will involve gaining a deep understanding of Canva's core editor functionality and contributing to the team's product roadmap.
You will primarily work on building web-based features using TypeScript, but may also engage with other languages and environments.
Running quantitative and qualitative experiments with the support of a data analyst will be part of your responsibilities.
Requirements:
Experienced in problem-solving within highly complex and ambiguous domains.
Demonstrated success in achieving product engineering goals in the AI/ML field.
Familiarity with frontend technologies such as JavaScript, HTML, CSS, React, TypeScript, and MobX.
Strong foundation in computer science and engineering principles including asynchronous programming, data structures, solution design, architecture, and design patterns.
Proficiency or keen interest in natural language processing, especially with cutting-edge LLM technology.
Ability to approach problem-solving with a user-centered mindset and creative algorithmic thinking.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
