Remote Senior Frontend Engineer, Grafana DataViz (Remote, US EST)

Description:

• The Senior Frontend Engineer will be part of the DataViz squad in Grafana, responsible for visualizing data in panels like Histogram, Time series, Geomap, and Canvas.
• The mission is to ensure data visualization is useful, performant, and beautiful for Grafana's users to make informed decisions.
• The role involves working remotely in a distributed team, collaborating on a product used by engineers worldwide.
• Responsibilities include transforming ideas into working code, understanding user context and goals, and communicating design decisions clearly.
• The engineer will work with React, Typescript, Redux, RxJS, uPlot, D3.js, Lodash, OpenLayers, and Golang for backend code.
• Tasks include reviewing feature requests, bug fixing, developing new features, collaborating with UX, and enhancing user onboarding journey.

Requirements:

• Must have a couple of years of experience as a front-end developer and be comfortable working in a remote-first company.
• Experienced with data transformation and visualization tools like SQL, Pivot Tables, D3.js, Matplotlib, or Jupyter Notebooks.
• Understanding of a user-centered software development process and ability to build solutions that bring value to users.
• Proficient in transforming ideas into working code, designing solutions, and receiving feedback.
• Self-driven individual with strong communication skills in written and spoken English.
• Active interest in observability pillars (Metrics, Logs, Traces) and complex solutions.
• Familiarity with being on-call and performing operations tasks like version checking and rollbacks.
