Description:
The Senior Frontend Engineer will work with Hopper Technology Solutions (HTS), which powers major travel portals for brands like Capital One and Commonwealth Bank of Australia.
The role involves architecting, optimizing, and scaling high-performance travel portals.
Responsibilities include developing features, defining scalable foundations, and working on a next-generation lodging, car, and packaging platform.
The engineer will collaborate with product, design, and engineering teams to shape the architecture for multiple portals.
Daily tasks include working in a low-process environment, driving decisions through documentation, shipping features quickly, and collaborating cross-functionally.
Requirements:
Candidates must have deep expertise in React, including functional components, hooks, performance optimizations, server-side rendering, and advanced state management.
Extensive experience with complex state management tools such as React Context, Redux, or Zustand is required.
Advanced knowledge of CSS, including SCSS, CSS-in-JS, Tailwind, and animations, is necessary.
Proficiency in TypeScript and experience with enterprise-scale applications is essential.
Experience in optimizing frontend performance through techniques like lazy loading and code-splitting is required.
A strong understanding of frontend architecture and the ability to design scalable systems is necessary.
Familiarity with server-side rendering and static site generation, particularly with Next.js, is preferred.
Experience working with backend APIs (GraphQL, REST) and efficient data-fetching strategies is required.
Familiarity with backend systems and cloud platforms (GCP, AWS) is a bonus.
A passion for writing testable code and understanding what to test in front-end applications is essential.
