Description:

  • The Senior Frontend Engineer will work with Hopper Technology Solutions (HTS), which powers major travel portals for brands like Capital One and Commonwealth Bank of Australia.
  • The role involves architecting, optimizing, and scaling high-performance travel portals.
  • Responsibilities include developing features, defining scalable foundations, and working on a next-generation lodging, car, and packaging platform.
  • The engineer will collaborate with product, design, and engineering teams to shape the architecture for multiple portals.
  • Daily tasks include working in a low-process environment, driving decisions through documentation, shipping features quickly, and collaborating cross-functionally.

Requirements:

  • Candidates must have deep expertise in React, including functional components, hooks, performance optimizations, server-side rendering, and advanced state management.
  • Extensive experience with complex state management tools such as React Context, Redux, or Zustand is required.
  • Advanced knowledge of CSS, including SCSS, CSS-in-JS, Tailwind, and animations, is necessary.
  • Proficiency in TypeScript and experience with enterprise-scale applications is essential.
  • Experience in optimizing frontend performance through techniques like lazy loading and code-splitting is required.
  • A strong understanding of frontend architecture and the ability to design scalable systems is necessary.
  • Familiarity with server-side rendering and static site generation, particularly with Next.js, is preferred.
  • Experience working with backend APIs (GraphQL, REST) and efficient data-fetching strategies is required.
  • Familiarity with backend systems and cloud platforms (GCP, AWS) is a bonus.
  • A passion for writing testable code and understanding what to test in front-end applications is essential.
