Description:
Hopper Technology Solutions (HTS) powers major travel portals globally, and the company is seeking a Senior Frontend Engineer to help accelerate its growth.
The role involves architecting, optimizing, and scaling high-performance travel portals, not just developing features.
The engineer will work on a next-generation lodging, car, and packaging platform, assisting top brands in driving ancillary revenue.
The position requires a strong React engineer who is passionate about building world-class user experiences and minimizing long-term maintenance overhead.
The candidate will collaborate closely with product, design, and engineering teams to shape the architecture for multiple portals at scale.
Daily responsibilities include working in a low-process environment, driving decisions through documentation, shipping features quickly, and collaborating cross-functionally.
Requirements:
The ideal candidate must have deep expertise in React, including functional components, hooks, performance optimizations, server-side rendering, hydration, and advanced state management.
Extensive experience with complex state management tools such as React Context, Redux, Zustand, or similar is required.
Advanced knowledge of CSS, including SCSS, CSS-in-JS, Tailwind, animations, and handling browser quirks is necessary.
Proficiency in TypeScript and experience in developing and maintaining enterprise-scale applications is essential.
The candidate should have experience optimizing frontend performance through techniques like lazy loading, code-splitting, and caching strategies.
A strong understanding of frontend architecture and the ability to design scalable, maintainable systems is required.
Familiarity with server-side rendering and static site generation, particularly with Next.js, is preferred for SEO-friendly experiences.
Experience working with backend APIs (GraphQL, REST) and efficient data-fetching strategies is necessary.
Familiarity with backend systems and cloud platforms (GCP, AWS) is a bonus but not mandatory.
A passion for writing testable code and understanding what to test in front-end applications is important.
Benefits:
The position offers a competitive salary and the potential for pre-IPO equity packages in a well-funded startup.
Hopper covers 100% of the premiums for the group insurance plan, including life, short-term, and long-term disability coverage.
Employees have access to a Health Savings Account (HSA) for eligible medical and dental expenses.
All employees and their dependents can access Dialogue’s telemedicine services anytime, anywhere.
An RRSP plan with automatic pre-tax withdrawals per pay is available for all employees.
The company offers a very generous parental leave policy that exceeds industry standards.
Employees enjoy unlimited paid time off (PTO) and a Carrot Cash travel stipend.
Access to co-working space on demand through FlexDesk and a work-from-home stipend is provided.
The company promotes an entrepreneurial culture that encourages pushing limits and taking risks.
Open communication with management and company leadership is emphasized.
Small, dynamic teams allow for a significant impact within the organization.
