• The Motion team at Canva is dedicated to enhancing the video editing user experience by pushing technical boundaries to produce smooth animations and effects for engaging content creation.
• The team works with industry-leading technology like Generative AI, WebGL, WebGPU, and Web Assembly to build a robust tech stack that exceeds industry standards.
• As a Senior Frontend Engineer, you will work on enabling innovative animations in the video editing and playback experience.
• Responsibilities include solving complex problems, investigating code and behavior, writing and reviewing design documents and code, and owning the entire lifecycle of the code.
• The ideal candidate will be a team player, problem solver, have excellent collaboration and communication skills, and possess a strong foundation in computer science and engineering fundamentals.

Requirements:

• Commercial experience in designing and building web applications using TypeScript, React, and MobX.
• Knowledge of CI/CD patterns and testing techniques to write reliable code.
• Experience working collaboratively in a cross-functional team.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Familiarity with Video, Computer Graphics, and Rendering technologies (WebGL).
